i was taking the kids to preschool this morning when 'these dreams' by heart came on the radio. that song was on the first tape i ever owned. i got my first stereo (it even had a turntable!) for christmas back in 1985 and heart was the very first cassette tape i ever owned. i also got my first (and only) album that christmas. my aunt and uncle sent me sting's 'dream of the blue turtles'.
three years later i got my first cd player and the very first cd i owned was (gawd, i'm embarrassed to admit this) vixen's self-titled album.
what about you? what were your first albums/tapes/cds? (and do you dare admit it in public?)

First CD - Extreme's Pornograffiti. Very, very bad.

I can't remember which was truly first but my first albums, being older I did have a few -
Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengence,
Kiss - not sure of title
Charlie Daniels Band - the devil went down to georgia.
First tape - hmm it might have been Hall and Oates - Private Eyes
First cd - probably Iron Maiden or some other music that I have since stopped listening to.
The first album I bought with my own money was Dream Weaver/Gary Wright. Loved it! I bought tons of 45's before that. I still have them all if you want to come laugh one day!
Great Question!!! Mine was Sting - "Nothing Like the Sun"- my older brother bought it for me for Christmas because my parents bought me a pink "Boom Box." Oh those were the days my friend!!
And yes...Emily is cool, I am sure Dan will talk about her for HOURS if you just mention her name...he is such a hoot!!!
I remember getting Billy Joels Glass House and REO Speedwagon High Infidelity. With my own money I bought Kiss Albums (my mother wouldn't buy them for me)!
