don't get a new puppy in the winter. trust me on this one.
(and for that matter, don't have kids in the winter, either. send them to boarding school. schlepping kids across a parking lot in the rain to take them to preschool just plain sucks.)

Or, attempt to take one child out to buckle them in the car seat and then return to find your older toddler has locked the screen door! And you & your house key have no way of getting in, while it is sleeting. That's the day I was thankful that my husband had golf clubs in the trunk for breaking in to your house!
